RGC U18s have enjoyed a fortnight to remember thanks to a pair of impressive victories.
The young Gogs recorded back-to-back triumphs for the first time this season in the Regional Age Grade competition, which began with a hard fought 17-10 win over Dragons Academy on Sunday, January 21.
This was swiftly followed by a standout 25-15 success against Cardiff Blues at Bangor Rugby Club, which was their most complete performance of the campaign to date.
There were a number of outstanding contributors that emerged from the contests with an enormous amount of credit, with full-back Sam Earl-Jones demonstrating his immense promise with a pair of fine displays.
Henry Maitland-Davies made a welcome return to the squad following injury, and the Rydal Penrhos Rugby Academy prospect made an instant impression by gaining a try against the Dragons during a critical stage of the clash.
The scrum-half, who has been named in the RGC senior squad on two occasions this term, was also one of the players that caught the eye against Blues, dictating the tempo of the game throughout during an accomplished outing from the hosts.
Shaun Thomas, Jake Aldridge and Brenig Hughes were dominant in the pack which played a huge part in their win, and the trio of Peter Jones, Matthew Buchanan and Rhys Henderson were rarely wasteful in possession and caused significant problems for the visitors with their powerful runs.
