Dan Atkins scored two goals in just one minute as Colwyn Bay thrashed Prestatyn Town 7-0 on Friday, October 25.

The match took place at the 4 Crosses Construction Arena, where the Seagulls maintained their second position in the JD Cymru North.

With this win, they remain four points behind league leaders Airbus UK Broughton, who recently beat Holywell Town 8-3.

Holywell are now eight points behind Colwyn Bay in third place.

The Bay have won eight consecutive league matches and are unbeaten in their last 13 games across all competitions.

Colwyn Bay started the game strong, taking the lead within five minutes.

Tommy Creamer delivered a lovely cross to the far post, which Jamie Cumming headed in from close range.

Captain Sam Hart and Gwion Dafydd had further chances as the Seagulls controlled the play.

In the 29th minute, Dafydd scored a stunning first-time finish from the edge of the box, doubling their lead.

Dafydd had another goal ruled offside before Atkins, facing his former club, scored with a header from a cross by substitute Joe Williams.

Just moments later, in first half stoppage time, Atkins netted again from Creamer’s cross, bringing the score to 4-0.

Josh Carey then added a fifth goal with a powerful 25-yard shot that left the Prestatyn goalkeeper, Robbie Williams, with no chance.

Although substitute Lloyd Marsh-Hughes missed a one-on-one chance, he later found the net.

Craig Lindfield provided a cross for Marsh-Hughes to score the sixth goal.

The scoring was rounded off with five minutes remaining when substitute Ryan Kehoe netted his first goal for the club from close range.

Colwyn Bay’s impressive performance continues to highlight their attacking strength, having scored 27 goals in their last five league matches.
