LLANDUDNO FC are heading into round three of the Welsh Cup after a hard-fought clash with Kinmel Bay.

Mark Cadwallader scored the winning goal in a closely contested FAW Welsh Cup knockout round tie at the Go Goodwin Stadium in Llandudno.

Early in the game, Kinmel Bay opened the scoring with Jordan Bellham assisted by Sean Sheridan after just six minutes. Llandudno’s Luca Bennett drew the score to even things up just nine minutes later.

In the 41st minute, Llandudno's Adam Stephens scored from a penalty and just before half time the Bay's Sean Sheridan, assisted by Ash Wood, equalised to make it two apiece.

In the second half, Connor Morris came on for the Bay relieving Nial Hughes.

In the 49th minute, Morris assisted Sheridan for his second goal.

 

Six minutes later at the 55 minute mark, Llandudno's Michael Davies pulled the score back to three all.

Then, it was in the 77th minute of the intense action that Llandudno's Cadwallader assisted by Harvey Bennett put the game to rest.

Llandudno manager Jordan Hadaway said: "We took the risk tonight with the squad that we picked, hoping to get through whilst resting players and not picking anymore injuries up. We finished the game with six or seven of the reserve lads on the pitch, which is credit to the work being done in the reserves team."

He praised the Kinmel Bay team, tipping them for success in the league.

He added: "Full credit to them (Kinmel Bay) with the divsion they are in, and I'm sure they'll be successful. I hope that they'll go up because they've got a good management team and they're a good side."
