At Conwy parkrun last Saturday, almost 300 club and social runners, many returning after injuries or important races, enjoyed near perfect weather.
Veteran track athlete Steve Gardner from North Wales Road Runners, who recently set records in national and international events, participated and managed to finish in fifth place overall.
Mr Gardner took 19 minutes and 31 seconds and also won his VW60 age category.
James Jones caught the crowd's attention with a new course personal best of 20.17 minutes, landing him in seventh place overall and second in his SM30 category.
Stuart Culverhouse trailed behind him by just eight seconds, earning a 20.25 minute time that won him his VM50 category.
Despite fighting injuries, Steve Bozier did well finishing 14th in 20.56 minutes.
He brought home victory in his VM45 category, while Newcomer Paul Aubert made a promising start by finishing 23rd overall.
The youngest runner, Joe Culverhouse, took home the title in his JM11-14 category, a triumphant return since his football adventures and recent injury.
He took 40th place in 23.44 minutes, followed shortly by Jamie Tharme in 48th position with a time of 24.08 minutes.
Hannah Griffith, the 14th fastest woman, ran steady and finished 69th in 25.31 minutes, earning her a second-place standing in her VW50 category.
It was Josh Keogh who took the gold in the event, finishing the course in 18.25 minutes.
The next two fastest runners were both women, with Anna Drinkwater coming in second at 18.46 minutes and Emily Hanlon in third at 19.02 minutes.
Olivia Jones was the third fastest woman to finish, completing the course in 22.14 minutes.
The participants shared gratitude to the run director, as well as the marshals and volunteers who were located throughout the course.
The provisional results can be found on the parkrun website.
