North Wales Road Runners bagged four age category wins at the Conwy parkrun.

Last Saturday, September 7 13 club members took part in the 5k event, which began at the RSPB Nature Reserve.

Despite the heavy and humid weather, Josh Keogh was the first finisher overall, with a time of 18 minutes and 37 seconds.

Steve Bozier followed closely, finishing 11th overall in 21 minutes, securing second place in the VM45 category.

Steve Roberts clinched the VM55 age category win, finishing in 24th place with a time of 21 minutes and 57 seconds.

Karl Morris finished 28th, bagging second place in the VM40 category with a time of 22 minutes and 5 seconds.

Stuart Culverhouse finished 45th in 23 minutes and 33 seconds.

In the women's categories, Hannah Griffith won her VW50 age category in 69th place, finishing in 26 minutes and 1 second.

Veteran Michael Finnie completed his first Conwy park run in more than two years, finishing 86th in 26 minutes and 48 seconds, and securing third place in the VM65 age category.

Master vet Don Hale continued his recovery programme, finishing 102nd in 28 minutes and winning the VM70 age category.

Fellow master Mark Mason finished just one place behind Mr Hale.

John O’Shea finished 125th in 29 minutes and 46 seconds.

Mike and Sue Smith returned to the parkrun after a year away, with Mr Smith finishing 201st in 35 minutes and 34 seconds, and Mrs Smith walking the course with her dog in 234th place in 40 minutes and 55 seconds.

The event, which attracted runners from various parts of the UK, saw some club runners return after long periods of absence.

The first male athlete home was Mr Keogh, while Rebekah Livsey was the first female on her debut at 21 minutes and 38 seconds.
