LLANRWST moved up the table in the Colwyn Bay & District Midweek Cricket League with an impressive five-wicket win against last year’s champions, Ysgol Pen Y Bryn.
Dave Atkinson opened and made 22, but Andy Butlin (50) injected real pace into the batting, hitting six boundaries.
Wickets from Iwan Edwards, Aaron Hughes, and Rupert Lomax pegged back the score, but Pen Y Bryn set a tricky target by scoring 121-5.

Llanrwst looked to be struggling as they fell to 51-4 at the halfway mark, thanks to some impressive catching off the bowling of Nic Boulds.
When Aaron Hughes had to retire on 52, it was left to Iwan Edwards to try to take Llanrwst to victory.
He did this in incredible fashion, hitting five sixes in a row to reach the target with three overs to spare.
The league has encouraged youth players to make the step up, and young Gethin Jones made an impressive debut for the Rwsters.
Meanwhile, Lex continued their winning streak, but were given a mighty scare by Abergele.
Batting first, Lex put on 94-0 in the first 10 overs, thanks mostly to a swashbuckling 56 from Sam Rimmington.
Tom Thornton replaced him when he retired and kept up the attack.
But when Bez Thomas had him caught, panic seemed to hit the innings with three run outs as the batters tried to keep up the momentum.
Tom Bleasedale anchored the innings having opened the batting, finally falling to the last ball of the innings as Lex reached 153-9.
The Abergele reply started in the worst possible way, as Mike Gwynne found the edge of Osian Thomas’ bat, leaving them 1-1.
Moinak Pyne and Seb Sebastion led the recovery, putting on 64 runs at a healthy rate.
Lalmon TV then came in and put pressure on the bowlers with four sixes as Abergele looked to be coasting at 124-2 with four overs left.
But Lex unleashed young Dayton Griffin, who took three quick wickets to put the brakes on the scoring, and the innings finished at 142-5, just 11 runs short.
