It wasn't to be for treble-chasing Kinmel Bay who are are having a magnificent season.
Kinmel Bay Under-15s lost 4-0 to Cardiff Wanderers U16 Reds today in the Bute Energy U16 Girls Welsh Cup Final at Latham Park, Newtown.
Despite a strong run to the final and hopes of becoming just the fourth North Wales team to win the U16 national cup, they weren't able to clinch victory.
The scoreline remained 0-0 until the sixth minute of first half injury time when Cardiff's Alys Wilson scored.
Two goals early in the second half by Jaymie-rose Powell practically secured Cardiff's victory. Wilson's second goal at 71 minutes confirmed the win.
It was still a memorable day, with the team displaying great character and courage.
Kinmel Bay can still compete for the North Wales League title and League Cup, with Penrhyn Bay their next opponent in the coming six days.
