Welsh international Becki Davies hopes Sunday's match will be the start of a legacy.
Davies is the head coach for what was a huge day as North Wales Crusaders’ women’s side.
They have six matches over the course of this season, that started with the home encounter against Heysham Atoms.
It took place on the 4G pitch behind the Eirias Park stadium in Colwyn Bay where the Crusaders made history with the bonus of a win.
Crusaders Women's first-ever rugby league match saw them win 28-18.
Just two months after their first training session, Becki Davies and the team got off to a flyer.
“I think there’s excitement, but nervous excitement,” said Davies ahead of the match.
“I have said from the get-go we have got six games in total.
“It doesn’t matter if we win or lose.
“The most important thing is the culture we set here.
“They are not just turning up for training and playing games, they’re creating a legacy.
“They’re the first women’s North Wales team ever!”
Davies was appointed as head coach of the newly-formed team back in March and she added: “We started from complete scratch.
“We had really good interest to be fair.”
Players from a number of sporting backgrounds have joined up with the side, with footballers, netballers and rugby union players deciding to give it a go.
“No-one has played league before,” added Davies, who plays for the Salford Red Devils.
When she was appointed to the role earlier this year, Davies admitted: “I’m over the moon, it’s going to be an exciting adventure, I’m really looking forward to it.
“I am very aware that this is North Wales Crusaders first ever women’s team, so I want to make it really special.”
She just wants the players to have fun and continue their development on Sunday.
“As long as they go out their, have fun and do their best and see in themselves the skills they have developed, that in my eyes is a win,” added Davies.
“I think I’m going to enjoy it! The assistant coaches, they are really, really great.
“I love it and I’m enjoying it.”
