CONWY Borough manager Matthew Jones has boosted his squad with the loan signing of Kian Owen.
The talented youngster arrives at the Tangerines from JD Cymru North rivals Colwyn Bay on a short-term deal, which is sure to come with more in the way of first-team opportunities to boost his development.
Jones has been extremely busy putting together a competitive squad since his appointment last year, but it remains to be seen whether the second-tier campaign will be permitted to begin by the Football Association of Wales and Welsh Government.
Borough are looking to build on a promising campaign last time out that saw them secure a top-six finish, and Jones was clearly thrilled to secure Owen’s services after being impressed by the player during the 2019/20 campaign.
He said: ‘I’m really pleased to be able to bring Kian in for what will hopefully be the 2020/2021 season.
“I saw Kian a number of times last season and was very impressed with his maturity and ability.
“Kian is the kind of player we want to be working with and we are excited to see how he develops while he is with us.
“I’d like to thank the Colwyn Bay management team for allowing us to make this deal happen and for their support in getting it done. We look forward to working with Kian until the end of the season.”
This deal was part of an immensely busy week of transfer activity for the Bay, who brought in a host of familiar faces to strengthen their squad ahead of a potential start date.
