CONWY Borough have received another welcome boost with a number of influential squad members re-committing to the club.
The Tangerines’ are looking to build on a positive JD Cymru North campaign that ended with a top-six finish, with new boss Matthew Jones managing to convince senior figures to stay on at Y Morfa despite interest from elsewhere.
Their latest batch of re-signings includes Sean McCaffrey, a forward-thinking midfielder who was one of Borough’s top performers last season.
Chairman Chris Wilton, said: “It’s great to have such a talented young local player at the club. Sean has shown great maturity in midfield and his know-how is exceptional for a young player.”
Another player that should provide a massive contribution to the set-up is Craig Whelan, who produced a series of eye-catching displays during his first campaign at the club last time out.
Club captain Iolo Hughes is another that has put pen to paper for the new season, with the defender offering exceptional leadership on and off the pitch during his time with the Tangerines.
Adam Pritchard is a talented young defender who caught the eye during a memorable season following a spell playing in the US college structure, and the player will look to build on this when competitive action gets underway.
Club director Lee Jones, said: “Adam is another young talented player who has had an excellent season. His versatility is an asset and he can play anywhere along the back as well as pushing up into midfield.”
Nathan Williams and talented youngster Harry Galeotti are others who reaffirmed their commitment to the squad, and striker John Littlemore will look to make a bigger impression next term after joining during the January transfer window from recently relegated Porthmadog.
“We were delighted to pick up John from Porthmadog and are very pleased that he will be back for the upcoming season,” added Wilton.
