CONWY Borough manager Chris Morrell declared his pride following his squad’s recent activity to aid the community during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Tangerines’ have taken part in a series of fundraising initiative since their domestic season was suspended due to social distancing measures relating to Covid-19.
This has included members of the first team squad donating good to the Conwy Food Bank, which has received an unprecedented amount of demanding during the pandemic.
They are also auctioning off their treble-winning shirts from the historic 2017/18 campaign under Gareth Thomas, which saw Borough win the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance, FAW Trophy and Cookson Cup.
Morrell, said: “I'm very proud of our club Conwy Borough FC with the fundraising during these uncertain times.
“Players and coaches donating to the Conwy Food Bank and the club constantly raising funds for NHS.”
This strong community involvement has been evident throughout the club during the last two seasons. Their recent support of Football v Homophobia shirts received mainstream exposure and raised a considerable amount for the cause.
Their planned State of Mind Sport fundraiser during a home fixture against Colwyn Bay was unable to take place due to the suspension. This is scheduled to be rearranged once a final decision has been made on the outcome of the season by the Football Association of Wales.
