CONWY Borough are holding a shirt auction to raise funds for the National Health Service and a regional organisation during the domestic fixture suspension.

The Tangerines’ have joined the fundraising efforts across the country for the NHS to assist them in the fight against Covid-19 in the coming weeks, with a section of the proceeds also going towards the Conwy food bank.

The shirts are from their memorable treble-winning campaign in 2017/18 under manager Gareth Thomas.

After being relegated from the Huws Gray Alliance the previous season, Borough enjoyed one if the finest campaigns in the club’s history on their way to an instant promotion back to the second tier by winning the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title.

They also secured another impressive feat by clinching national success in the FAW Trophy, and an exceptional campaign was rounded-off with a Lock Stock Cookson Cup victory to seal the treble.

The club continued this momentum to maintain their second-tier status in their first season back at that particular level. This is a trend that continued during the current campaign, with the Tangerines’ finding themselves in a very respectable seventh spot before the domestic season was suspended by the Football Association of Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Borough’s senior squad members also used their own initiative to make donations to the food bank, which is the latest charitable gesture by the club.

Details of how to bid on various shirts can be found on Conwy Borough FC’s Twitter page, located at https://www.twitter.com/conwyboroughfc.
