LLANDUDNO Amateur Reserves’ NWCFA Junior Cup journey ended with a 6-2 loss at Trearddur Bay Bulls.
The Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One side put in a spirited performance against the one-time Gwynedd League leaders before eventually bowing out of the competition in treacherous conditions.
Justin Williams was the star of the show for the home side, producing a clinical display that resulted in a superb hat-trick.
Iolo Jones, Gwion Owen and Dave Webb also managed to find the net for the hosts to seal their passage to the next round.
The visitors did have something to show for their efforts, with Ben Williams and Matty Roberts firing in consolations.
Llandudno Amateurs also fell to defeat on their travels as they were downed 4-1 at Aberffraw.
The home side broke the deadlock on 35 minutes when an Adam Hallybone delivery was met by Stephen Jenkins, but Sandy Malone’s side responded well and went into the break all square thanks to a long-range thunderbolt from Martyn Byast with 42 on the clock.
After the interval saw Breffo regain their advantage on 50 minutes thanks to a Nathan Moore header from a Kyle Murphy free kick, and the same player was on hand to double the hosts’ lead following another set piece with nine remaining.
There was still time for the home side to put the exclamation point on proceedings, which came on 89 minutes as Jenkins delivered a free-kick that caught the wind and ended up in the net.
