CONWY Borough have strengthened their squad with two key signings.
The JD Cymru North outfit confirmed that midfielder Gethin Maxwell has made a return to the club following a brief spell at Rhyl, with director of football Warren Gibbs also securing the services of talented striker Aidan Clark from Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One side Bodedern Athletic.
Maxwell was a key figure in the Tangerines’ third-tier title victory in 2018 under Gareth Thomas and played a significant role in Borough establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with within tier two once again.
His consistency landed him a move to the Lilywhites’ during the summer, but he found opportunities limited due to injury and Maxwell has now opted to return to Y Morfa and more familiar surroundings.
Clark gets his chance to shine in the second tier after turning in a series of outstanding displays for Ricky Williams’ side last term as they achieved an unlikely runners-up spot behind eventual champions Llangefni Town.
The front man is a clinical finisher and has continued this trend throughout the current season and formed a prolific partnership with Dean Redmond, who was a summer signing from Gwynedd League champions Menai Bridge Tigers.
Both are expected to feature during a busy upcoming week for the Tangerines, which begins at an inconsistent Bangor City on Tuesday before returning to home soil for a contest against a formidable Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant.
