A FINE fightback from Llandudno Junction was not enough to salvage anything from their 3-2 home reverse at the hands of Pwllheli.
The Railwaymen showed their mettle to come from two-down and looked to have secured another point before being hit with a sucker-punch at the death, but they can take great heart from their latest Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two outing as they continue to make significant strides after a disappointing start to the campaign.
A strong start from the away side saw them take the lead on the quarter hour mark when Jamie Lee Banks found the net, and they managed to extend their cushion just before the break when Dafydd Gwyn Jones finished well with 36 on the clock.
After the break saw the home side increase their level of performance considerably and find a route back into the game, with Harry Parker Smith halving the deficit with a well-taken chance on 63 minutes.
Junction restored parity to the score-line late on when Jack Williams’ superb strike found the target with five remaining, but their hopes of another point were dashed with 88 on the clock as Jones pounced for his second of the afternoon to give Pwll’ the victory.
The result leaves the Railwaymen in 11th spot ahead of the next contest at title-chasing Gwalchmai on Saturday.
