Denbigh Town put their New Year’s Day derby thrashing by Ruthin Town behind them with a comprehensive home win over Llandudno.
Goals from Paul Fleming, Nathan Brown (2) and Matthew Worrall secured maximum points with a 4-1 win, despite the visitors taking the lead with less than two minutes played.
The result keeps Town on course for a top-six finish in their first season back at the second tier, while Llandudno are not yet safe from the threat of relegation despite having won 3-2 at Prestatyn Town earlier in the week.
Their survival hopes seemed to be growing just two minutes in, as a bullet header by debutant Stevan Stanic-Floody made its way past Aaron Jones and into the net.
Llandudno almost went 2-0 up when Fabrizio Murtas struck a post, while Brown had a goal ruled out at the other end.
But Denbigh were quickly level as Billy Holmes capped a fine performance by crossing for Fleming to fire home.
Town went ahead when Brown’s cross deceived everyone and ended up in the back of the net.
Brown added another on the stroke of half time, winning a tackle before confidently scoring.
The win was effectively sealed early in the second half.
Worrall was played through and he swept the ball home.
Brown was having a fine game for Town and almost took home the matchball on 56 minutes, as Pritchard’s cross was half cleared as far as the forward.
He struck the bar with his effort and no further goals were scored, as Denbigh comfortably saw the game out.
Denbigh travel to Llanidloes Town on Saturday (2pm).
