DURING the weekend of June 24 and 25, the North West Federation Festival of Croquet was held in Southport.

This is believed to be the largest croquet competition in the world, and Llanfairfechan & North Wales Croquet Club took five teams to Southport for the weekend.

The teams represented each different method of playing the game of croquet.

Llanfairfechan were overall runners-up in the competition out of 10 competing clubs and a select team from across the North West; in all, 39 teams competed.

Llanfairfechan came second in three out of five competitions.

Llanfairfechan player, Rick Harding, has also been selected to play for Wales in the upcoming Association Croquet World Championships, to be held at various West London clubs between July 15 and 23.
