COLWYN Bay Rugby Club are gearing up for a new season having finished last campaign with a 86 per cent winning ratio and fourth place in Division Two North.

Further successes for the team in 23-24 included one player being selected for Sale Sharks and seven for RGC for the 24-25 season.

The team will start the new campaign as under-16s.

Coach Noel Gibbons joined the club offering a helping hand in 2017, before taking charge in 2018, and in 2022, additional coach Gav Hodgkinson came on board.

Noel said: “People helped me progress as a child, which provided me with opportunities to play rugby around the world.

“My love for the game and appreciation for the help I received means I want to put some of that back into giving other kids the same help.”

Gav added: “I wants to give kids more of a rugby experience than I had as a kid, and to share my knowledge of the sport to further develop kids in the area.”

Current under-16s team captain Toby Edge said: “The thing I love about Colwyn Bay is the camaraderie we have between us.

“Win or lose, we always have each other’s backs. Our coaches are a big part of this - the support and training we receive from them really is something special.”

With a new season approaching, Colwyn Bay are looking to recruit new players.
