PORTH Eirias Runners, based in Old Colwyn, had a huge turnout at a charity run in Deganwy on Friday (June 2).

“Rohan’s Run”, an annual event, commemorated and celebrated the life of Rohan Ingley, who lost his life to leukaemia in August 2018, aged just 17.

More than 25 of the club’s members ran the event, with one of its runners, Natasha Jones, winning the female 40+ category with a finishing time of 36.54.

Jasper McQueen, meanwhile, came seventh position in his male 50+ age group with 36.56.

Catrin Williams, a leader of the club, said: “The group has grown this year, and we are very proud, as leaders of the group, that each member has done brilliantly, even in the hot weather.

“We also had several members join the popular C25k groups this year, who continue running with the group, and ran their first event with great runs, such as Karen Bradburn, Phillipa Pears, Sarah Bradburn, Karen Mc Queen, and Elaine Heyes.

"On July 8, Porth Eirias will take over Conwy parkrun to celebrate 75 years of NHS, and there will be cake for everyone."
