A TALENTED young hockey player from Deganwy has been named new captain of North Wales' under 13's side.
Lily Copeland, who is 13 years old, plays for Eirias Hockey Club.
However, she is now also set to skipper an 18 player squad which has been selected from hockey clubs across the region, for this weekend’s Regional Hockey Finals in Nottingham.

Her vice-captain at the three day national tournament will be clubmate Charlotte Payne, from Rhos on Sea.
Eirias Hockey Club, based in Colwyn Bay, have four players in the squad with Eve Kirkham, from Abergele, and Fleur Roberts, from Colwyn Bay, joining Lily and Charlotte in the team.
They were all selected from an original group of 44 players who attended three trials at Bala before the group was reduced to a 24 player training squad then the final 18 selected to represent North Wales.

Lily, Charlotte and Eve were also in the Eirias Under 14s team which won the title of North Wales Champions in April and played in the Welsh Nationals in Swansea in May finishing third in Wales.
They open their tournament at the Nottingham Hockey Centre with a match against Tensworth at 3.40pm this Friday.
Lily is a sports scholar at Rydal Penrhos School where Charlotte and Fleur are also pupils. Eve is a pupil at Eirias High School.
