A BOXER at a club based in Colwyn Bay recently became a five-time Welsh champion at an event in Cardiff.
Liam Taylor, representing Dyffryn Amateur Boxing Club, claimed his fifth title on April 22 in front of a packed Sport Wales National Centre in Sophia Gardens.
Having fought three times in the Welsh Championship, not losing a single round in the competition with his southpaw counter punching style, Liam then went through to represent Wales in the Elite GB Three Nations championship on May 29, also in Sophia Gardens.

Having picked up a hand injury, and having 10 stitches in his left hand removed just two weeks before the championships, he still landed Wales a bronze medal, also racking up his total fights to 67.
Liam is now becoming one of the most experienced boxers in North Wales.
