More than 144 people raised £14,000 for a North Wales charity recently.

St David’s Hospice, which provides palliative and end of life care to patients across Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey, received the sum thanks to the annual 'Test the Team' Corporate Quiz.

The quiz was organised by the North Wales Business Club.

Sam Amis, relationships fundraiser for the hospice, said: "We are very grateful to North Wales Business Club for organising another hugely successful event and to Worldspan for their hard work and support in writing and delivering another brilliant quiz.

"We would also like to thank Barclays Bank, who very generously match funded the total raised on the night, and to all the teams and sponsors who helped to make the event possible."

This year, St David’s Hospice is celebrating 25 years of providing care.

The charity says it needs to raise more than £6 million each year to keep services going.

Nine per cent of that figure, apparently, comes from the Welsh Government and Local Health Board.

More than 75 per cent of it, meanwhile, is reportedly funded through community fundraising, charitable donations, and legacy gifting.

The charity's efforts are said to impact the lives of more than 1,000 people within communities across the counties of Conwy, Gwynedd, and Anglesey.

Twenty-four hour care is offered 365 days a year by St David's Hospice, providing a clinical service alongside emotional, physical, and spiritual support.
