STUDENTS at a performing arts school in Colwyn Bay are due to take to the West End stage this weekend.

Members of the Pauline Quirke Academy Conwy, which is based at Rydal Penrhos school, will perform on the West End on Sunday (November 10).

The show is a jukebox-style musical written by West End producers specifically for performance by Pauline Quirke Academies.

The performing arts school, which meets on Saturdays from 9.45am-1pm, takes students from age four to 18, who rotate around the modules of comedy and drama, musical theatre, and film and TV, with specialised teachers every in session.

Danniella Jackson, principal of the Pauline Quirke Academy Conwy, said: “We will be joining two other academies from across the UK to perform this full-scale musical.

“The students have been rehearsing for the past few months, and over 70 students are heading to London to perform, from age six to 18!

“After our successful performance at Venue Cymru last week as a warm-up, we are ready to go!

“We are really proud and excited to take them to London to live the dream at His Majesty’s Theatre!”
