A MAN from Glan Conwy is to be sentenced after pleading guilty to carrying a sword in Penmaenmawr.

Euryn Dien, 36, of Bryn Eglwys, admitted charges of possession of a bladed article and affray at Mold Crown Court this morning (November 1).

The court heard that both charges relate to an incident in Penmaenmawr on March 31.

Dien, who has no previous convictions, was granted bail until December 5, when he will be sentenced.

A pre-sentence report will be compiled on his behalf by the probation service in the intervening period.

Judge Niclas Parry, presiding over today’s hearing, told Dien: “You’ll still be given some credit (for pleading guilty). How much credit will depend on the sentencing judge.

“You’ve not been sentenced for anything before, so it’s right that we know a bit more about you (before sentencing).

“Keep the appointment (with probation). Be frank and honest with them.”
