A free defibrillator awareness course is set to take place in November.
The course is being held by St John Ambulance at Craig-y-Don's Community Centre at 4pm on Friday, November 15.
Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has invited her constituents to attend.
The course will cover how to manage an incident, spot signs of chest pains, and undertake a primary survey and resuscitation (CPR).
It will also include an introduction to the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Ms Finch-Saunders said: "Through dedicating a few hours of your time to learn life-saving skills, you could empower yourself to save a life in future.
"In Wales around 5,000 hospital admissions each year are for heart attacks: that's an average of 14 each day, or one around every 100 minutes.
"I am grateful to St John Ambulance for their kind cooperation and willingness to teach us how to use a defibrillator, and what to do when we come across an unconscious casualty, or one experiencing chest pains."
Those wishing to participate in the course are asked to email janet.finch-saunders@senedd.wales or call her office on 01492 871 198.
