A COMPLAINT of unfair dismissal against a business in Colwyn Bay was thrown out by an employee tribunal.
Complainant Ms E Hughes claimed unfair dismissal from Fat Jack’s Burgers Ltd, a restaurant at 160 Conway Road.
A tribunal, held on September 4, noted that as Ms Hughes had not been employed by the business for at least two years, no unfair dismissal complaint could be made.

She was “not entitled” to bring such a complaint according to Section 108 of the Employment Rights Act 1996, the tribunal added.
The former employee had also “failed to give an acceptable reason” for why the complaint should have been upheld, regardless of the claim being ineligible.
Fat Jack's Burgers, a Llandudno-registered company, is owned by Jack Gough, and was previously based in Rhos-on-Sea before making the move to Colwyn Bay.
The restaurant enjoys a 4.1/5 rating on Google Reviews, based on 116 reviews, and offers a wide range of burgers and side dishes with a takeout option.
