FIREFIGHTERS were called to a “false alarm” at the KFC restaurant on Mostyn Street, Llandudno on Saturday (October 19).
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the restaurant at about 6pm, but a spokesperson said it proved to be a “false alarm caused by cooking fumes”.
KFC said the restaurant has closed temporarily so that “routine maintenance” can be carried out.

A KFC spokesperson said: “Fear not, fans of KFC Llandudno! While our Mostyn Street restaurant has temporarily closed for some routine maintenance, we’ll be back at the fryers shortly.
“In the meantime, our Conwy - Llandudno Junction restaurant remains open and is ready to serve up some finger-lickin’ food.”
Catherine Louise, a witness said: “Police had also been present but had left by then, and thankfully, there were no ambulances, so we assumed no injuries were caused.
“I'm a local and have worked at KFC years ago, and I have had friends who work there too, so I wanted to know everyone was safe.”
