AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a woman whose body was found on the beach near a Towyn holiday park.
Patricia Whittaker, of Ffordd-Y-Morfa, Abergele, was found deceased on the beach near Whitehouse caravan park on October 13.
At County Hall in Ruthin on Monday (October 21), an inquest was opened into the 57-year-old's death.
It heard that she had been reported missing on October 12 by her son - and concerns were raised for her safety.
The following day, a member of the public reported seeing a body in the sea at Towyn.
When the tide receded, the body was washed up on the beach - around 70 metres from the holiday park.
The emergency services attended and the body was later identified as being that of Ms Whittaker.
A full inquest was adjourned pending further investigation.
