Residents at a Llandudno care home were delighted by a visit from Sparkles, a miniature pony.
The black and white Shetland, from Sparkles Pony Parties, was led around RMBI Care Co. Home Queen Elizabeth Court by owner Laura Owen.
The residents were given the opportunity to pet and stroke the pony, and she was even introduced to some residents in their rooms.
Rachael, an activities coordinator at the home, said: "Sparkles was so patient and placid, standing still for everyone to pet and stroke her.
"Our residents loved meeting her and hearing all about her from Laura."
The visit from Sparkles was not just a fun activity, but also provided therapeutic benefits for the residents.
Research has shown that spending time with animals can help reduce blood pressure, heart rate, stress, and can aid emotional stability.
This can be particularly beneficial for older people, helping to reduce anxiety and depression.
Rachael added: "It was a lovely afternoon which certainly lifted everyone's spirits."
The RMBI Care Co. Home Queen Elizabeth Court is part of the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
