BAKERY giant Greggs has been lined up to open at the site of a former tapas restaurant in Conwy.
The high street bakery is rumoured to be in talks to open a new store on Castle Street.
The unit previously belonged to The Midland, a tapas bar and restaurant which closed with "profound regret" in February amid the cost-of-living crisis.
Since The Midland's closure, the site has been on the market with estate agent St David's Commercial.

While Greggs did not confirm whether it would take over the premises, it did say the company was "always looking into new locations".
The Castle Street unit is available to let for £24,000 per year (plus VAT) on a ten-year lease, and is extends to some 266 sqm with a "fully fitted and equipped kitchen".
A Greggs spokesperson said: “Greggs is always looking into new shop locations.
"While we are unable to confirm anything at the moment, we will share any information in due course.”
