CONWY County Council’s education department has applied for planning permission to build two extensions at a special school in Llandudno.
The application to build at Ysgol Gogarth on Nant y Gamar Road in Craig y Don has now been registered with the council’s planning department as part of a public consultation.
If planning permission is granted, the two extensions to the existing school building will provide additional teaching space and dining accommodation.
Llandudno Town Council has recommended the application is approved.
The £18m ‘new’ school building opened just 10 years ago in 2014, complete with vocational hub, sports field, parking, and dining accommodation.
The building also included high-tech sensory rooms, climbing walls for wheelchair users, and a hydrotherapy pool with a bubbling jacuzzi.
The new extension is proposed to include dark grey framed glazing and dark grey door panels.
The plans won’t alter pedestrian or vehicular access or create any new jobs.
The planning application will likely be discussed at a future planning committee meeting at Conwy’s Bonlondeb HQ.
