A FILM and audio production company based in Conwy has produced a song to raise funds and awareness for an “incredible” charity.
Tania Cornick and Tom Foulkes, of TT23 studios, have created the song for Amy and Friends, a charity supporting children/young adults suffering from Cockayne Syndrome and linked DNA repair disorders, and their families.
The charity was founded in memory of Amy Hughes, from Nercwys, who died on January 1, 2020 aged 28 - she had Cockayne Syndrome, a rare disorder which causes premature ageing.
A JustGiving page has also been set up to try to raise money for the charity: www.justgiving.com/page/warchildsongfundraiserforamyandfriends.
Tania was the lyricist and vocalist on the track, entitled War Child, while Tom composed the melody.
She said: “We decided to gift this song to Amy and Friends, a charity that needs more awareness, and all of the money from streaming and downloading is going directly to the charity.
“We have plans to do a music video for the song, which will come out next year, and will also be another fundraiser.
"This song is a gift to Amy and Friends. It's for all the children, families, anyone going through hard times and for anyone who has sadly lost their loved ones.
“They may have grown their angel wings, but remember they are always around us.
“Within this song there is a message of love and hope to help give anyone who has sadly suffered a loss some comfort, too.
“Its haunting melody lines and meaningful lyrics will have you drift off into your thoughts and gain a deeper understanding of what this charity is all about.”

Amy and Friends founder, Jayne Hughes, added: “When I listened to ‘War Child’, the words just reflected what the children and young people that Amy and Friends supports experience.
“Every day, they are in a fight for their lives - for answers, diagnosis, for the right kind of help and to enable them to have the best and most fulfilling lives they can while battling these conditions that take too many of them from us too soon.
“We are so grateful to TT23 for all their support and for giving us the gift of this beautiful song.”
