APOCALYPSE Now, House of Gucci, Quantum of Solace - immerse yourself in the signature operatic tunes that provided the soundtrack to these movie classics as the Welsh National Opera returns to Venue Cymru.
The Llandudno theatre has announced its autumn programme of shows from the WNO and it kicks off with Verdi's stunning Rigoletto on Thursday, October 10.
The story of a court jester (Rigoletto), who uses vicious wit to conceal his tormented heart. In a world teetering on the edge of debauchery and deceit his only joy is his daughter, Gilda - but when the charming, womanising Duke of Mantua sets his sights on her it sets in motion a tragic chain of events. Please note this show is for those aged 16 and over and contains some scenes people may find upsetting.
The following night - Friday, October 11 - the WNO brings us Opera Favourites at the Movies.
Whether you are a fan of opera or cinema there's something here for you, as the show explores some of the most iconic operatic arrangements made famous by Hollywood.
The season concludes with a double-header of Puccini as the WNO in partnership with the Scottish National Opera puts on first Suor Angelica and then Gianni Schicchi in one night on Saturday, October 12.
Suor Angelica weaves a poignant tale of sacrifice and redemption as a young nun is sent to a convent to repent her sins.
Gianni Schicchi is full of unexpected twists, deception and greed as a family dispute over a missing will.
