A CAFE in Colwyn Bay has been given a food hygiene rating of one, with the business in need of "major improvement".
Blods Coffee Corner, at 38 Abergele Road, was given a one-out-of-five score after assessment on August 13.
The Food Standards Agency's report rated its management of food safety 'major improvement necessary', while its cleanliness and the condition of its facilities and building was rated 'improvement necessary'.
The business' hygienic food handling was rated 'generally satisfactory'.
Blods Coffee Corner was reopened by Tyler Booker and James Jones in March 2023, having closed the previous April.
Now under new management, the business told The Pioneer of the latest hygiene rating: "The manager didn't have any paperwork done but has now left and there is a new manager who is on top of the paper work.
"We are booked in for a reassessment."
The café made headlines last year when it introduced a gruelling Man Vs. Food-style challenge, dubbed the Devil’s 666 Challenge.
