TWO FRIENDS are celebrating the first anniversary since they took over ownership of a much-loved café in Llandudno.
Last September, Alexandria Geeson and Jennifer Dallaway took over the popular coffee shop Coffee V, located at 18 Mostyn Avenue.
The pair, who met on the school run 16 years ago, took over from former owner Rhian Hastings, for whose son Alexandria was once a childminder.
Alexandria, of Penrhynside, and Jennifer, of Glan Conwy, have put their own stamp on the business in the first year – new cakes on offer, extending opening hours and an interior and exterior redecoration.
The café was even visited by some of the crew of ITV's Mr Bates vs The Post Office, including the real life Alan Bates himself.
One year on and the friends have finished their first summer season.
“It has been a fabulous summer,” said Alexandria.
“Along with our regulars we have met some wonderful holiday makers which has kept us very busy.”
“We have not only been busy with the usual day-to-day running of the shop but also with our growing events calendar.
We now have a monthly book club, quiz and bingo, there has even been some refurbishment of the shop.
“The exterior has had a facelift going from cream to green.
“Our wish for our second year is that the bond we have built with the local community grows from strength to strength.”
