A SEAFRONT hotel in Llandudno which closed last year remains empty, with furniture still in place and considerable vegetation growth.

White House Hotel, at St George’s Crescent, closed at the end of 2023, with its staff made redundant.

Liquidators said operator Seaside and Rural Breaks Limited had suffered during a difficult period for the hospitality sector.

The 56-bedroom, Grade II listed hotel, located in a prime position on the town’s seafront, saw costs spiral and was likely not helped by several poor reviews online.

Whitehouse Hotel had a 2.5 rating on TripAdvisor after more than 1,000 reviews, with some commenting that it was “grim” and “disgusting”, with others mentioning damp and stains on bedding.

Dean Watson and Paul Stanley, from Begbies Traynor, were appointed as joint liquidators.

The hotel remains untouched, with considerable vegetation growth and large amounts of litter discarded on its front.

Rust has enveloped its railings, steps and façade, and its interior remains intact, with furniture and items (including salt and pepper grinders) still neatly arranged.

Attempts were made to contact Begbies Traynor for comment.
