A COUPLE of boys helped rescue a mother and her baby daughter after they had been swept away by the tide in Towyn last week.
Brothers Ricky and John Adams, 14 and 11 respectively, from Runcorn, were holidaying at Happy Days Caravan Park when they went to the nearby beach on Wednesday, August 28.
But after the tide began to quickly come in, they noticed the woman and her daughter struggling, so swam out with their surfboard to help bring them to safety.
Their mother, Stacey Crane, 36, shared some footage of their rescue operation, and told of how proud she is of her sons, who she labelled “heroes”.

Stacey said: “When the boys brought them back, they couldn’t stop saying ‘thank you’ to them. The girl’s mum said to me: ‘You should be really proud of what your boys have just done’.
“The beach was absolutely heaving, but no-one had tried helping them, and the baby wouldn’t stop crying because she was that frightened.
“When John brought the baby back on his board, she felt a lot better in herself.
“The tide had started coming in around us, and the woman and the young girl, who was only about one-and-a-half, were stood there playing.
“Everyone saw the tide was coming in, and getting deeper and deeper. I looked to see where my boys were and as I turned to see where they were, they’d already gone to help them.
“I was worried about my boys as well, because it was a big shock, but I was very emotional afterwards because they’d saved them as well.”
Thankfully, Stacey said, neither the mother nor her daughter needed further medical assistance after being brought back to shore by Ricky and John.
She added: “They’re heroes. I’m well and truly proud of them; I can’t stop thanking them myself.
“They saw the tide coming in rapidly around the mum and her child, and helped them off their own back; nobody even asked them to. They’re good swimmers, as well.”
