A PERSON was taken to hospital after falling and injuring themselves on a jetty on Llandudno's North Shore yesterday (August 29).
Llandudno Coastguard were called to reports of a man who had fallen and injured himself on a jetty.
The man had suffered a "deep gash" to his leg, had a broken ankle and had inhaled sea water.
An off-duty doctor passing by later volunteered to take him to hospital after he had been stabilised by coastguard teams.
Llandudno Coastguard said: "We applied an emergency compression bandage to the leg wound and splinted and braced the injured ankle.
"With an incoming tide and a very narrow jetty we asked for the assistance of our friends at RNLI Llandudno Lifeboat to convey the casualty from the jetty to shore.
"The lifeboat crew were also able to provide some pain relief to enable us to move the casualty.
"A passing off-duty doctor very kindly offered assistance and even volunteered to take the casualty to hospital."
