BELOW is a round-up of all of the criminals whose prison sentencings were covered by the Free Press, Journal, Pioneer or Chronicle in August 2024.
Hannah Roberts
Roberts, 28, of Parc Afon Bach, Llanrwst, was jailed after assaulting an emergency worker.
She was described by a North Wales Police inspector as “a persistent drain on our resources”.
Lauren Harris and David Webster
Harris, 29, of no fixed abode but from Colwyn Bay, and David Webster, 43, of Lacey Street, Widnes, were handed life sentences after murdering 65-year-old David Wilcox in his Colwyn Bay home.
Mr Justice Edward Pepperall, who presided over their two-month trial, handed minimum terms of imprisonment of 25 years to Harris and 23 years to Webster.

Roland Doano
Doano, 45, of Helens Crescent, Pentraeth, let himself into staff accommodation at Wrexham Maelor Hospital and attacked a security guard.
He was told to leave, and did comply - but just before midnight, he was back in A&E.
Macauley Wood
Wood, 28, of Glascoed Avenue, Kinmel Bay, played a “crucial” part in the supply of class A drugs.
Examples of drug-dealing messages sent from his phone included “on with both” and “massive bit, get on me, going fast”.
Jack Nash
Nash, 24, of Lawson Road, Colwyn Bay, was involved in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine in Rhyl, Abergele and Colwyn Bay.
He was found to be linked to a “graft phone”, advertising the sale of these drugs for a period of about three months.
Craig Judge
Judge, 39, of Princes Drive, Colwyn Bay, committed multiple thefts in quick succession in Rhos-on-Sea, Abergele and Rhyl.
Items he stole included whisky, a pedal cycle, and football stickers.
Stephen McCouid
McCouid, 41, of no fixed abode, damaged five police cars in Caernarfon.
He used a stone to smash the windscreens and windows of five police cars outside Caernarfon Police Station.
Benjamin Crofts
Crofts, 27, of Tan Y Bryn Road, Maesgeirchen, Bangor, used a dog lead to punch his victim in the head.
The victim fell backwards and hit his head on the curb, becoming unconscious.
Dewi Hughes
Hughes, 34, of Twr Cuhelyn Street, Llanerchymedd, “held hostage” his friend in a stolen van for three hours
He also assaulted his then-partner on multiple occasions.
Liam Vaughan
Vaughan, 25, of High Street, Pwllheli, raped a woman.
He did so while the woman was sleeping.
Connor Tabner
Tabner, 23, presently residing at HMP Berwyn but formerly of Prestatyn, was jailed for offences including rape, assault by penetration and sexual assault.
He already had a number of violent offences against women on his criminal record.
Andrew Hayes
Hayes, 61, of Nant Y Felin, Nefyn, was jailed after appearing in court for the third time in less than a year for driving offences.
He was disqualified from driving for 10 years and 10 months.
Brendon Bell
Bell, 22, was jailed after a six-hour burglary spree across Northwich, Gwynedd and Anglesey.
He had attempted to run away from police when he was caught driving a car with fake number plates days later, but was quickly caught and brought to justice.
Ian Atkinson
Atkinson, 52, of Clwyd Terrance, New Brighton, shared an intimate photo of a woman online after they had met in Holyhead earlier that night.
He also received a restraining order, lasting for five years.
David Ellis Jones
Jones, 61, of Egremont, Cumbria, was stopped while driving in Gwynedd, less than 24 hours after appearing in court for driving while disqualified.
It transpired that Jones was already disqualified from driving after being dealt with for a drink-driving offence at Workington Magistrates’ Court in April.
Jordan Swaine
Swaine, 32, of Gwyndy, Trawsfynydd, was jailed for sexually assaulting a girl.
This happened in 2021.
Ionut Vasiliu
Vasiliu, 39, was stopped at the Port of Holyhead, after previously being banned from entering the UK.
He said he wasn’t aware at the time that his deportation order was indefinite.
Dario Rocha
Rocha, 38, of no fixed abode, was stopped by Border Force officers at the Port of Holyhead.
He has no current leave to enter the UK, and has previously had numerous refusals of entry and leave to the UK.
