The North Wales coastline is home to numerous independent coffee shops beloved by locals and tourists.

With that in mind, the Rhyl Journal asked readers to share their favourite place to pick up a hot drink and a sweet treat.

They shared a range of locations across Rhyl, Prestatyn, Abergele, St Asaph, Rhuddlan, and more.

Graham Mitchell said: "Tim's coffee lounge in Rhyl.

"Not only do you get a decent cup of coffee with a slice of scrummy cake, the staff are the friendliest bunch ever."

Anne Hand said: "Definitely Jackson’s Garden Centre not only delicious coffee and cakes but a wonderful display of plants not to mention fabulous clothing section."

Rhiannon Fennell considers The Red in Dyserth her top pick for homemade cakes.

However, she warned: "Parking is a bit of a problem at busy times though."
