STUDENTS at Ysgol John Bright in Llandudno 'bucked the trend' with outstanding results this year.
In a year when results nationally were expected to fall, Ysgol John Bright students flourished.
More than half of Year 13 gained at least one A*/A grade with a phenomenal 15 per cent of the large Year 13 cohort gaining at least three A* or A grades.
Headteacher Hywel Parry commented: “We believe Ysgol John Bright is a place to find your future and that is certainly the case for these amazing students receiving their results today including 90 per cent of our university applicants who have gained their first choice university place.

"We are so proud that the students’ hard work and the dedication of our staff has paid off.”
Notable successes include Daniel Mitchell, a student president, with 3A*2A and who will study Biochemistry at the University of Manchester.
Jess Sutton with 4A* is now taking a gap year.
The school's other student president Kyria Houghton gained 3A*1A and will will read Theatre and Performance at Warwick, with Mohammed MIrza also with 3A* 1A going on to study Medicine in Cardiff.
