THE Post Office branch in Rhos-on-Sea may move to a new location, with a proposed move to another area of the town.
The couple who ran the Penrhyn Avenue branch, Sue and Dean, confirmed their plans to retire earlier this month after 15 years as subpostmasters.
With the Post Office unable to find anyone to replace them to head the branch, the company has launched a public consultation on plans to relocate.
Plans would see the branch move to Go Local, at 105-106A Penrhyn Avenue, which is under refurbishment to become a Premier store.
The Post Office said the new premises would provide 25 more hours of service per week, including extended Wednesday and Sunday hours and later closing times.

A Post Office spokesperson said: “Post Office is proposing to relocate Llandrillo Yn Rhos Post Office to a new location - Go Local, 106-106A Penrhyn Avenue, Rhos-On-Sea, Colwyn Bay, LL28 4LG.
“The current postmaster has resigned and the premises at Penrhyn Avenue, Rhos on Sea, Colwyn Bay, LL28 4PS, will no longer be available for Post Office use.
“A new agent has been appointed, who has identified an alternative location to operate Llandrillo Yn Rhos Post Office, which would incorporate the Post Office, subject to consultation.
“The premise is currently undergoing a refurbishment and the shop would change to a Premier Store.
“The proposed opening hours are Monday to; Saturday: 9am – 8pm. This will provide 77 hours of service a week.
“This would be an extra 25 hours of service a week than currently provided including Wednesday and Saturday afternoons and later closing.”
Consultation will close on September 20, with customers able to share their views online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 443614.
