COMMUNITIES joined together in Llandudno to remember their loved ones in a show of support for a North Wales hospice last weekend.

St David’s Hospice, which this year is celebrating 25 years of providing care to patients across Conwy, Anglesey and Gwynedd, held their “Memories Meadow” event on Sunday (4 August) at Llandudno’s Happy Valley gardens.

Almost 1,000 sunflowers were displayed throughout the day, and each one was a tribute left by someone to remember their loved one.

Joanna Hughes, senior social worker for the charity, said: “Each sunflower represents a cherished memory, a life lived, and a life shared.

“The sunflowers are not just symbols of remembrance, but also of the hope and support for the vital work we do at St David’s Hospice.

“This year, we celebrate our 25th anniversary and we are reminded of the countless families and individuals who have been part of our journey.

“Every sunflower is a testament to the enduring power and love and remembrance.

“The generous contributions ensure that we can continue to provide compassionate and palliative care for future generations, ensuring that St David’s Hospice can continue to be the beacon of hope and care for many years to come.”
