THE Post Office branch in Rhos-on-Sea may move to a new location after the couple currently running it confirmed their plans to retire.

Currently based on Penrhyn Avenue, the post office has been run by couple Sue and Dean for the last 15 years.

They said they are retiring “with mixed feelings”, while the Post Office said consultation on a new location for the branch will start soon.

A statement from Sue and Dean read: “After 15 years in Rhos-on-Sea at the Post Office, it is with mixed feelings that we are letting you know that Dean and I will be retiring.

“Although contracts, as yet, have not been signed, Post Office Ltd are proposing to move the Post Office from its current location, as it has not been possible to find anyone to take over the office in its current premises.

“We have not been given a fixed date, but Post Office Ltd have told us it will be some months before the move as this has to go through public consultation.

“Post Office Ltd are sending notices out in the next couple of days, which we have been asked to display in the office, but we wanted to let you know ourselves.

“Many of you who started as customers have become our friends and we will miss you all when we leave, but hope we have your understanding.”

A Post Office spokesperson added to this by saying: “The couple who run Llandrillo Yn Rhos Post Office want to retire, and we will soon begin consultation on a move to a new location.

“More information will then be available.”
