Janet Finch-Saunders, Aberconwy MS, said: “I am delighted that my campaign on behalf of the community has been successful.

“Conwy County Borough Council’s decision to cut off several communities from public transport was disgraceful.

“The distress caused to residents wanting to access GP appointments, hospital appointments, and other services is significant and unforgivable.

“I hope that the leader of the council, Cllr Charlie McCoubrey, and Cllr Goronwy Edwards, cabinet member for infrastructure, transport and facilities, never allow such a shocking situation to happen again.”

A council spokesperson said: “We provided a shuttle bus between Dolgarrog and Ty’n-y-Groes for the first road closure, but that shuttle bus wasn't much used.

“So, we’re now trialling this on-call taxi shuttle service instead, as a more suitable option for the small number of people from Dolgarrog and Tal-y-Bont who want to meet up with the bus.

“There is no fee to pay for passengers to use the taxi to meet up with the bus.”
