THE CARPETRIGHT store in Llandudno will close following a takeover deal which has seen 54 of the brand's shops saved from administration.
It was announced yesterday (July 22) that more than 200 of the retailer's stores would shut after flooring company Tapi secured the Carpetright brand, intellectual property, two warehouses and 54 stores in a pre-pack administration deal.
The retailer was close to collapse more than a week ago, and filed a notice to appoint administrators earlier this month as it looked for extra funding.
The deal will save more than 300 jobs.

But Tapi has now confirmed the store at Mostyn Champneys Retail Park in Llandudno has not been saved, and will therefore shut.
Jeevan Karir, Managing Director of Tapi Carpets & Floors Limited said; “Our goal, initially, was to try to save all of Carpetright.
"However, as we looked into the details of the situation, we quickly established that saving the entire business was unviable.
"The business has been materially loss making for a number of years and it has significant debt held by the owner.
"We then turned ourselves to trying to save a number of stores whilst being mindful of how the competition authorities would look at any deal.
"So, we arrived at 54 stores and two supporting warehouses.
"All of which are exceptional and that we’d be proud to have as part of the Tapi family.”
A spokesperson for Tapi, on its website, said that "all other Carpetright stores" not on the list would close.
The Carpetright in Wrexham, the only other outlet in North Wales, will also close.
