FISHING off Llandudno Pier will be banned as of tomorrow (July 21).
The pier’s fishing platform is to be closed off “for the foreseeable future”, its general manager, Paul Williams said.
Mr Williams said the decision has come following verbal abuse to staff and damage to the pier gate.
A statement from Mr Williams read: “As of tomorrow, the fishing platform will be closed off for the foreseeable future, and subsequently, no fishing will be allowed off the pier.
“The safety and wellbeing of my staff and the pier is paramount.
“The frequency in verbal abuse we’re receiving, and constant damage to the gate, is relentless.
“We wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and unfortunately, the minority has ruined it for others.
“Apologies for the inconvenience caused.”
Earlier this month, Llandudno Pier was named in a list of the 16 most beautiful piers in Britain, compiled by The Telegraph.
