A MAN has been arrested after brandishing an axe and assaulting a police officer in a village in Conwy.
Shortly before 3.30pm this afternoon (July 17), officers attended a residential property in Dwygyfylchi on a routine policing matter.
A police officer was subsequently assaulted by a male with an axe, and sustained a hand injury.

An operation involving armed officers was undertaken to facilitate the safe arrest of the suspect.
The incident prompted a police cordon to be put in place and Ysguborwen Road to be closed in both directions.
At 9.08pm, officers entered the property, and a 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding.
North Wales Police said: “We understand that concern and disruption will have been caused as a result of this operation.
“We appreciate the patience and support of the local community whilst we resolved this incident.”
