LLANDUDNO has been named the sixth-cheapest place in the UK for fish and chips in a new study.

The Conwy town was found to have an average price tag for fish and chips of £8.97, and an average review score of 3.9 out of 5 for its chippies.

In the study, compiled by Capital On Tap, a total of 30 UK locations were researched, and had their fish and chips prices compared.

Capital On Tap specifically looked at the prices of fish and chips as a percentage of the average weekly salary in the area to achieve its final rankings.

Elsewhere in North Wales, Portmeirion claimed third place for the most affordable fish and chips, costing just 1.2 per cent of an average weekly salary.

Capital On Tap said: “With a price tag of £8.57, this charming village offers a great balance between cost and quality.

“The high review score of 4.4 out of 5 indicates that customers are highly satisfied with their meals, making Portmeirion a fantastic destination for those seeking delicious fish and chips without breaking the bank.”

Portmeirion was also the third-most affordable place for a portion of large chips, costing £3.20 on average.

Porthmadog, meanwhile, was rated the 10th-most expensive, with an average price for fish and chips of £10.84, costing 1.52 per cent of an average weekly salary.
