SIR Alan Bates, the former sub-postmaster from Llandudno, will be honoured with a civic award by Llandudno Town Council later this month.
Alan Bates was the sub-postmaster at the post office in Craig y Don from the late 1990s until the early 2000s.
He is the founder of and a campaigner for the Justice for Sub-postmasters Alliance.
Sir Alan was knighted in recognition of his campaigning work which highlighted the Post Office Horizon scandal, having previously rejected an OBE honour.

He was nominated for the civic award by Cllr Dr Rob Atenstaedt, with the ceremony to take place on Civic Sunday on July 28.
Dr Atenstaedt said: “I was delighted to nominate Sir Alan for a well-deserved civic award from our council.
"He has achieved so much in exposing a gross injustice against a number of sub-postmasters in Wales and beyond.
"He has also brought our beautiful town of Llandudno to national attention through the TV programme ‘Mr Bates vs the Post Office’ which is based on his campaign.”
